About Persimmon Brotherhood

Our Mission & Vision

The Persimmon Brotherhood's Mission is to bring together Golfers from across the world that share a common love for Classic Golf played on Traditional Golf Courses. We support Persimmon & Blades Golf Events worldwide.

Moving Forward

Welcome to 2026 with a new year and a new beginning for The Persimmon Brotherhood. 2026 will be our 3rd consecutive year of playing our annual Persimmon and Blades Tournament. In the previous two years, we have coordinated with GHS in our two-day tournament and currently we feel it’s important to brand ourselves to our own tournament in our new venue.  We must walk before we run, and your help starting out is most important to each and everyone of us.

Moving forward we have kept our structure simple for everyone’s sake. David Bass, David Rose, Chris Whitten and I, Phillip Walters, have all been involved in procuring quotes from a few resorts that offer both sleeping accommodations and golf together to save us money. We set it up that way so every dollar can be utilized for our mission of giving back to causes dear to our hearts. All surplus proceeds from our event will be donated at the end of the fiscal year to an organization voted on by YOU, the ambassadors of The Persimmon Brotherhood.

Our Story

The attitude we would like to convey is also to be paying tribute to Golf's Icons from the Televised Era such as Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Tom Weiskoff, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Many More! Classic golf brought together stars like Jackie Gleason, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby ... and more recently, Bill Murray!
We will hold Classic Golf Equipment Swap Meets and Awards Banquets with Special guest speakers.

Membership

We will be setting up a simple once-a-year membership fee that goes along with reservations for hotel and golf. This is to lock in our group rate. This is important because we are self-funded and just starting out, boot strapping it!  We will all be soliciting from our many relationships throughout the golf business to donate items and/or monies toward this event. We truly feel this will grow in abundance for many players that still enjoy and respect the golf traditions, in an era of the finest golf yet.

All fees collected, and money donated to our Brotherhood will be categorized and shared with all ambassadors at the end of the 2026 fiscal year so we know what our goals will be for 2027.  A yearly membership is $45 with a tournament participation fee of $50.

An email will be sent out with the event information currently planned for 2026. We are looking into options for the 2027 event to be more of a Midwest location so our other future ambassadors won’t have to travel so far to have a good time with like-minded friends and/or maybe have sectional qualifying events with a major event. Again, we must walk before we run.

How to join

There is more to come from US in communications moving forward. David Rose has been orchestrating a lot of this with ambassadors and future ambassadors nationwide. Please reach out to him for any email changes or communications. Our goal starting out is grow to at least (50) ambassadors each and every year moving forward. We are keeping it simple and easy for everyone. We are asking existing and future ambassadors to invite one friend who enjoys this era of golf along with them to help grow our membership. We are constantly working on updating our website along with tracking interest nationwide for this event. We have also reached out internationally to a similar group in Europe doing the same thing as our Persimmon Brotherhood in hopes that down the road our paths might cross. Many great things coming our way! By the way, our Persimmon Brotherhood cannot sustain longevity without your help. We are initiating a Persimmon Brotherhood Membership Fee to help offset marketing, trophies, prizes and website development. Please help us by contributing an annual fee of $95.00. Monies can be received via Venmo or PayPal at these listed addresses. VENMO: @IPBOC-USA or PAYPAL: IPBOC.USA@gmail.com
